Byung Kyu Kim is a PhD candidate from Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center (MKOPSC) at Department of Chemical Engineering of Texas A&M University. Byung got his bachelor in chemical engineering at Sogang University in Seoul, Korea in 2009. He worked at SK Energy in Ulsan, Korea as process engineer until he joined MKOPSC in fall of 2009. Byung has been involved in MKOPSC LNG projects, conducting experimental work of application of water curtain to LNG spills at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station and at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Doha, Qatar. Byung's LNG research aims to provide guidance in designing effective LNG specified mitigative measure using water curtain system with CFD codes, which can be used for establishing an integrated LNG spill emergency response plan.
