Bruce Chinn is the president of Chevron Chemicals, a position he has held since January 2018.

Chinn’s previous role was general manager of Chevron’s Pascagoula Refinery, Chevron’s largest wholly-owned and operated refinery. Before that assignment, Chinn served as deputy upgrader manager for the Petropriar facility in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela and operations manager of Chevron’s Richmond, Calif., refinery. He joined Chevron in 2006 as the general manager of reliability for Chevron’s refining sector, based in San Ramon, Calif.

Chinn began his career at DuPont and held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, technical, and business leadership. His assignments while at DuPont took him to Texas, Delaware and Switzerland. He also worked as a safety and management consultant.

Chinn is active in the communities in which he has lived and worked. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Energy Institute, the Gulf Coast Business Council, and the Jackson County (Miss.) Economic Development Foundation. He currently serves on the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Foundation Board of Trustees. Chinn is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council.

Chinn is a native of Edna, Texas. In 1979, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University.
