Benjamin Cohen earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University in 2004, and then joined the Chemical Engineering Research & Development group at Merck. Subsequently he earned his M.E. from Lehigh University. Ben then took process development roles at Celgene in 2010, and Bristol Myers Squibb in 2012. Ben is currently an Associate Scientific Director in the Development Engineering Group in Chemical Process Development at BMS, where he focuses on development and tech transfer of processes to make small molecule drug substances. His focus includes reaction engineering, separations, crystallization, process design, and scale-up. Since 2021, Ben has also served as co-chair of the Novel Reaction Chemical Environment working group in the Enabling Technologies Consortium.
