Ben Stanford

Ben Stanford is the Director of Applied Research and the Corporate Water Reuse Practice Leader at Hazen and Sawyer in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Stanford has extensive experience and training the fate and transport of trace organic contaminants through natural and engineered systems including membrane bioreactors, reverse osmosis membranes, on-site wastewater treatment, soil-water environment, conventional and advanced drinking water treatment systems, and through advanced oxidation processes. He also has worked on several projects related to evaluating the Public health impacts of trace organic contaminants in drinking water and he currently serves on the AWWA’s technical advisory workgroup for the contaminant candidate lists (CCL3 and CCL4). Dr. Stanford’s current work ranges from understanding the impacts of climate change on water quality to investigating advanced treatment technologies for water treatment and water reuse, among others
