Bas van Steensel

Bas van Steensel is Research Group Leader at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam, Investigator at the Oncode Institute, and Adjunct Professor at Erasmus University Medical Center. He received a PhD in biochemistry at the University of Amsterdam. He had two postdoc positions, first in the lab of Titial de Lange at the Rockefeller University, and subsequently in the lab of Steven Henikoff at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Over the past ~20 years his lab has developed a variety of novel genomics technologies to elucidate principles of 3D genome organization and chromatin packaging, in relation to gene regulation and DNA repair.
