Mr. Amar Ahluwalia joined CCPS as a project manager, effective April 30, 2019. Amar will working in the CCPS Houston office and will be responsible for managing various CCPS projects, supporting the mission of the organization.
Most recently Amar was project manager & senior risk consultant at Det Norske Veritas (DNV GL) in Houston and has hands on experience with various aspects of risk management, loss prevention, HAZOP, PHA, etc. He also participated in the development of a recent CCPS book on Bow Ties in Risk Management. Previously, Amar worked at Baker Hughes as senior program lead in the upstream process safety arena where he earned the 2015 Center for Offshore Process Safety’s leadership award for process safety. Amar also has prior experience at a life sciences company.
Amar received his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. He enjoys backpack traveling to new places and hiking. He also enjoys cooking and experimenting with flavors (when he gets a chance to cook).
