Subject Matter Expert Process Safety and Barrier Management within Wolters Kluwer Enablon with a threefold role:
- Supporting the product team by translating requirements on process safety and barrier management from clients to functional requirements for the Barrier Management solution
- Engage with clients as part of the sales process to demonstrate and discuss the barrier management approach and concepts
- Involved as domain expert in implementation projects, facilitating workshops and providing training
Alwin completed a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Delft, The Netherlands. Followed by a degree on Safety at the University of Antwerp, Belgium and Integrated Risk Management at The Hague University, The Netherlands.
Since 1995 he has been working as consultant for HSE, Process Safety and Risk Management in various high risk industries such as Oil&Gas, Chemicals, Refining and Aviation.
Last 10 years he has specialized in Operational Risk Management and Barrier Based Risk Management methods such as BowTie, Tripod Beta and B-SCAT. Developing and delivering of Training Courses and Master Classes, Company and Industry standards, facilitating workshops, studies and incident investigations.
Since 2015 Alwin is supporting Enablon on creating a solution for Dynamic Barrier Management to visualize status of barriers and the associated Major Hazards in (near) real-time.
