Prof. Lapkin studied Chemistry at Novosibirsk State University (Russia). He then obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Bath (UK). He then held academic positions in the field of catalytic reaction engineering at Universities of Bath and Warwick, before assuming his current role of Professor of Sustainable Reaction Engineering at University of Cambridge.
