Abigail Engelberth

Abigail S. Engelberth is an Assistant Professor in Agricultural & Biological Engineering and Environmental & Ecological Engineering at Purdue University (Email: aengelbe@purdue.edu).  Since joining Purdue in 2011 she has worked to recover valuable co-products from agricultural sources.  Her research focuses on bioseparations principles to identify recovery methods and to optimize for implementation at the biorefinery.  As a member of the Laboratory of Renewable Resources Engineering she aims to find sustainable resources for the production of everyday goods.  She received her BS and ME degrees from Iowa State University and her PhD from the University of Arkansas, all in chemical engineering.  She is a member of AIChE and the Society for Industrial Microbiology (SIM).
