Aaron Shinkle has been with The Dow Chemical Company for 4 years in the process development group. The group works with all business divisions of Dow Chemical, but the majority of Aaron’s work has been with Dow AgroSciences. The process development team has been responsible for taking the process from the discovery team at the 20-gram scale and redefining the process into a profitable product in the commercial manufacturing plant. This process often involves decisions on if continuous or batch operations are more appropriate for the process. Aaron has had projects working on the Dow AgroSciences products Arylex, Isoclast, Penoxsulam, and others.
Aaron graduated with a BS degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University (Indiana) in 2008. During this time he was a co-op student with G.E. Plastics in Indiana as a process engineer. He graduated with a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan in 2013 and was hired into Dow Chemical.
