Aamir assumed the role of Regional Vice President Manufacturing – Americas at Shell in October 2010. In this role Aamir is a member of the global Manufacturing Leadership Team with responsibilities for manufacturing sites in Canada, the United States West Coast and Argentina.  

Prior to this assignment Aamir served as General Manager of Shell’s Deer Park Manufacturing Site which includes a 340M B/D refinery and a Chemical Plant. The site sits on 1500 acres on the Houston Ship Channel and is the home of 1500 Shell employees. Aamir’s responsibilities included the role of President of Shell Deer Park Refining Company - a 50/50 Partnership with Pemex, in which Shell is the Operating Partner. He was responsible to a Board of Directors including Shell and Pemex senior leaders.  

While at Deer Park, Aamir’s external responsibilities included serving as the 2009 Chairperson of East Harris County Manufacturers Association, Vice-Chairperson and member of the Executive Board of the Economic Alliance of the Port of Houston, Board member of the Texas Chemical Council and member of the Board of the Deer Park Educational Foundation.  

Aamir’s previous leadership experiences include a role as Director of Reliability & Maintenance for all Shell and Motiva refineries in the U.S and a term as General Manager of Shell’s Bakersfield and Martinez refineries in California. Prior to these senior leadership positions Aamir served in a variety of management positions in Operations, Technology and Health & Safety.  

Aamir earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in 1978.  Upon graduation, Aamir joined Shell Oil at the Deer Park refinery and is now completing his 32nd year with the company.      

Aamir is currently living in Houston, Texas while his family splits time between Houston and their home in northern California.
