Women in Chemical Engineering (WIC) Family Care Award

The Women’s in Chemical Engineering Community (WIC) recognizes that dependent and family care needs significantly impact the costs associated with attending professional meetings. Towards this end, we are excited to offer Family Care Awards (up to $500) to alleviate costs incurred by AIChE Members attending the 2024 Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Examples of costs that will be supported through these awards include, but are not limited to, airfare & lodging for dependents and/or caregivers accompanying you to San Diego, costs incurred due to additional care (after-care, additional care-giver hours) or on-site childcare or babysitters hired in San Diego. Dependents may include immediate family members (e.g. children, parents, spouse, siblings, grandparents).

This award program is open to all AIChE members attending the  2024 Annual Meeting in San Diego to present an accepted technical abstract. Priority will be given to applicants with greater demonstrated financial need.

Applications open until Oct. 3rd. 2024

If you have any questions, please contact Caroline Szczepanski.

WIC thanks the AIChE Operating councils (Societal Impact Operating Council - SIOC, Chemical Engineering Technology Operating Council - CTOC,  and Career and Education Operating Council - CEOC) for their support of this pilot program.
