Dow Particle Processing Recognition Award

The award recognizes a Particle Technology Forum member who has made significant contribution to the science and technology of particle processing in its commercialization, and who has shown leadership in the engineering community. The award is only made every odd year hence not open for 2016. The award is contingent on a candidate meeting the above criteria and may not be awarded every year.

 

Selection criteria (in addition to general requirements):

  1. Nominee must have been the member of AIChE-PTF for prior 3 calendar years and have not won another PTF award in previous three calendar years 
  2. An outstanding contribution to the science and technology of particle processing in its commercialization
  3. The awardee has shown leadership in the engineering community

Presentation: 
The award is presented bi-annually at a Forum sponsored event during the AIChE Annual Meeting.

    •      Initial nomination for 2017 must be submitted no later than April 30, 2017 and can be made here:   https://form.jotform.com/60587168379168

     •      Full nomination package is due latest by May 20, 2017 and should consist of a single PDF file that contains all of the following items to be sent to Ben Freireich, freireib@gmail.com

  • Nominations are accepted for 2017, the package includes:
  1. Filled nomination form (a blank form which will be sent to you after your nomination is received)
  2. A letter of nomination stating how the nominee contributed to the science and technology of particle processing in its commercialization, and
  3. At least three and no more than five supporting letters, with at least one from industry
  4. The nominator must be current PTF member
  5. If the nominee has previously received any award from AIChE or one of its divisions/forums, and explicit statement of new accomplishments or work over and above those cited for the earlier award(s) must be included (max. of one double spaced page).
  6. Selected bibliography (including books, patents, and major papers published).
