Prof. Xuanxian Peng received his Ph.D. from Xiamen University, China and studied at McGill University, Canada as a postdoctoral fellow. He had two experiences at Kyoto University, Japan and The Scripps Institute Research, USA as a visiting professor during 1998-2001. He was a Professor and group leader of Department of Biology, Jiangxi University, China from 1993 to 1996, and then moved to Department of Biology, Xiamen University, China as a Professor and group leader. Professor Peng was the Chairmen of Department of Biology from 1998 to 2003 and the Dean of School of Life Sciences, Xiamen University, China from 1999 to 2003. He is now member of Chinese Education Ministry for Sciences and Technology, vice chairmen of Chinese Society for Marine Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, deputy member of Chinese Society for Cell Biology and vice chairmen for Genomics and Proteomics. The research work is mainly on bacterial functional proteomics.
