Steven M. Cain is Senior Vice President of Marsh Private Client Life Insurance Services. Over the past ten years, Steve has helped build Marsh’s business, with more than $50 million of annualized premium, into one of the largest wholesale and retail distributors of long-term care insurance (LTCi) in the industry. Steve employs a consultative approach to problem-solving and a sharp focus on evolving needs in the marketplace. Under his skilled direction, his team of the nation’s foremost LTCi sales consultants will tighten that focus on the group, voluntary, and employee-funded sector.

Steve has been providing collaborative, customized insurance solutions for more than 12 years. Steve’s uniquely holistic insight is based on experience in home office, retail sales and brokerage market positions. In his prior employment with a third-party administrator, Steve was instrumental in introducing several carriers’ products into the brokerage market. Consequently, Steve understands all aspects of the industry, from sales and marketing to underwriting, administration and claims, making him the ideal leader for Marsh’s LTCi efforts.

Steve is highly sought after as an expert in the area of insurance and long-term care. He is a certified continuing education instructor for legal, accounting and insurance professionals, addressing State Bar Associations, the Society of Actuaries (SOA), the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). He is a member of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI) and the SOA. Steve holds professional designations of Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC).

Despite extensive professional responsibilities, Steve finds time to support the community. He has volunteered with the Special Olympics – Southern California Chapter since 2000 and organizes Marsh’s teams for the annual “Memory Walk” sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, of which Steve is a member of the Los Angeles Chapter.

Steve graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in communication and a minor in business. Before entering the insurance industry, Steve had a brief career in professional baseball, pitching in the farm systems of three professional teams. Steve also enjoys attending sporting events and concerts and spending time with his young family.
