Piero M. Armenante

Piero M. Armenante is currently Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Pharmaceutical Engineering Program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where he has been since 1983. He has also previously worked in industry, and international organizations. Prof. Armenante’s research activity is focused on single and multiphase mixing in reactors, stirred vessels, and testing devices, with special emphasis on pharmaceutical applications. Prof. Armenante is the recipient of the 2006 North American Mixing Forum (NAMF) Award for Contribution to Mixing Research and Practice. In 1998 he was awarded the Harlan J. Perlis Research Award, and in 2004 he received the Saul K. Fenster Excellence in Innovation Award for contribution to the development of the Pharmaceutical Engineering program. Prof. Armenante is also the Past President and a founding member of the North American Mixing Forum of AIChE, where he currently serves as a member of the Executive Council.
