John J. Peterson

Dr. Peterson received his Ph.D. in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University. John is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Quality Technology, and has published extensively on response surface methodology and its role in process optimization. John is a Director in the Research Statistics Unit at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. He has over 20 years experience consulting for various preclinical discovery and development research groups at GlaxoSmithKline (and its former companies). John’s current research involves using Bayesian statistical methodology for process optimization, QbD, and design space formulation. In this area he has several recent publications. An example of this Bayesian approach to the ICH Q8 design space problem has appeared in the biopharmaceutical industry’s CMC Biotech Working Group A-MAb case study, and has been referenced in recent industry presentations.
