Haiying Tang

Dr. Haiying Tang received her BSE in chemical engineering from Zhejiang University, China, and her MSE, and PhD in chemical engineering from Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit, Michigan. She is currently a research assistant professor of National Biofuels Energy Laboratory (NBEL) of Wayne State University & NextEnergy. She has extensive research experience in alternative energy technologies, biomedical devices, nanostructures, thin films, and engineering experience in petrochemical industries. Her research interests at NBEL include the development of the non-food crop based feedstock for biodiesel; strengthening biodiesel fuel specifications and standards in order to widespread warrant of biodiesel use by vehicle and engine OEMs and component suppliers; evaluating the effect of antioxidants on oxidation stability of fuel; investigating the precipitate formation for biofuels and its blends at low temperature. Dr. Tang has coauthored over 30 publications and 50 presentations.
