Eelke Kooi (1975) has been working for the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment since 2002. His unit, the Centre for External Safety, is involved in the development of directives for the calculation of third party risk. His personal work included QRA for flammable liquid storages, for production and transportation of natural gas and for several other activities. He has also carried out risk calculations for land-use planning around airports and GIS studies to determine risks at a national scale. Eelke Kooi studied Physics and Philosophy of natural sciences at Utrecht University and obtained a master’s degree for both studies in 2000.
