Owen G Jones

Dr. Owen Griffith Jones is an Associate Professor of Food Science at Purdue University and a contributing member of the Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research (WCCR).  He received his B.Sc. degree in Food Science from the Ohio State University and his doctorate from the University of Massachusetts in the laboratory of Food Biopolymers and Colloids Research. Dr. Jones then spent two years at Eidgenössiche Technische Hochschule in Zürich, Switzerland, as a post-doctoral researcher in the laboratory of Food and Soft Materials. Charles Damianides

Charles is the Vice President of Sustainability, Technology and Licensing for BP’s Chemicals business. The chemicals business is focused on the Aromatics and Acetyls value chains with manufacturing sites in North America, Europe and Asia. The business has technology centers located in Hull, UK, Naperville, USA and Zhuhai, China. 

Charles holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois in the USA.

Anne Rea

Anne W. Rea is a Senior Science Advisor in the Center for Public Health and Environmental Assessment within the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development.  Prior to this she was the Associate National Program Director for Nutrients and Harmful Algal Blooms in the US EPA’s Safe and Sustainable Water Resources Research Program. Jessica Vieira

Jess Vieira leads the Sustainability function at Apeel Sciences, where she is responsible for development and execution of the company’s Sustainability Strategy as it pertains to environmental and social responsibility. A core competency of Sustainability at Apeel involves using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to make informed decisions around product development and business strategy that aim to maximize the environmental benefits of Apeel’s technology in the market.

Laurna Kaatz

Laurna Kaatz directs Denver Water’s climate science, policy, and adaptation program. Her primary responsibility is to lead climate investigations and implement findings to inform planning, policy, and research. Binita Bhattacharjee

Binita has been with Amyris for over 5 years, and currently leads the Downstream Process Development team that develops and scales process trains to recover and purify fermentation-derived renewables for Amyris’s Health & Wellness, Flavors & Fragrances, and Clean Beauty product lines.  Prior to Amyris, Binita was with BP Americas.
