(142c) Three Differing Approaches to Industrial Decarbonization

With the increased pressure to decrease CO₂ output, industry is looking at various approaches to reduce carbon intensity. Typically, decarbonization involves replacing traditional fossil fuel-based power generation with low-carbon or renewable power, such as wind, solar or biomass.

This presentation will focus on how the industry is innovating to meet the challenge of decarbonization from three different approaches to achieve a common goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

We will explore the Origin Materials, PureCycle Technologies, and ION Clean Energy projects, which have taken different paths that utilize novel decarbonization processes at the forefront of their respective industries. Whether replacing products requiring petroleum-based feedstocks that emit COâ‚‚ during manufacture with carbon-negative products, petroleum-based manufactured products with recycled products, or capturing emitted COâ‚‚ from conventional processes, each company is poised to make a significant contribution to the reduction of industrial greenhouse gas emissions.
