Empowering Diverse Backgrounds, Unique Perspectives, and Careers

In recent years, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) have been given a heavier emphasis based on the necessity to empower underrepresented groups, which is why it is important for your chapter to start considering DEI initiatives to help embolden your members and build a more inclusive community. Together, the University of Michigan and the Purdue University chapters in AIChE have developed their own chapters, placing these crucial topics as core values of our organizations. In this session, we’d talk about the successes this has done and how an organization can discuss the importance of diversifying our network, building on new perspectives, and making our careers more inclusive to all.
