Across the world, strategies are written to support the emerging hydrogen economy. Hydrogen, routinely produced and used as a chemical substance, promises no direct emissions---aside from water vapors---at the point of use. However, due to the imperfect efficiency of electrolyzers, the balance-of-plant costs, and the lack of current transportation infrastructure, it is not yet cost competitive without government incentives. Realizing this, governments have funded research as well as technology demonstration projects and are also implementing changes to the tax code to further incentivize the commercialization.

This talk will consider the primary challenges of green hydrogen implementation and the current and possible future regulatory landscapes that will shape the future adoption of green hydrogen in the US.
