Dr Rachael Rothman is a chemical engineer who specialises in the development and analysis of sustainable processes and clean energy systems. She is the Co-Director of the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures and Academic Lead for Sustainability at the University of Sheffield. Through the Grantham Centre she leads interdisciplinary teams to find solutions that will lead to a more sustainable future, taking into account economic, environmental and social factors. She leads work on the life cycle assessment of plastics, including reuse systems and agricultural plastics, and on carbon dioxide utilisation and hydrogen production using electrochemical and thermochemical processes.
