Process Safety plays a crucial role in prevention of hazardous releases, fires and explosions throughout the lifecycle of a processing facility. Several accidents that have happened in the industry along with several near-miss incidents that could have resulted in catastrophic accidents have influenced the process industry to emphasize the importance of process safety in the engineering design of a facility.
This presentation discusses the fundamental concepts of Process Safety, some catastrophic incidents that happened in the industry, and case studies to demonstrate integration of process safety into engineering design.
