(501g) Managing Technology Transfer Risk through Predictive Sciences

Development and transfer of products can be improved and accomplished with a fewer risks by employing a focus on predicting the behaviors of materials and the processes acting on them. Looking at the process at multiple scales of action and examining the underlying material/machine interactions small scale tests and simulations can be used to more accurately predict the performance of the final process and product. The presentation will discuss advances in applying both test and modeling to reduce risk, experimentation and help assure success.
