Be the Change

Be sure to check out the AIChE Foundation’s Doing a World of Good eight-page insert feature in May 2021 issue of the Chemical Engineering Process (CEP) Magazine.

We are deeply grateful to our community of 6, 500+ individual donors and corporate partners who have made the campaign a tremendous success. Thanks to our generous donor community, over $27 million has been raised since the campaign’s inception to fund and support a multitude of initiatives, including; The Langer Prize for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Excellence, K-12 STEM programs, and SAChE safety training certification for faculty and students.

We are extremely excited to report on the AIChE Foundation’s newest collaboration with founding partners, American Chemistry Council (ACC), Chemours and HBCU Week Foundation, on the launch of the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI). FOSSI is the first industrywide equity, diversity, and inclusion initiative designed to help to create pathways for STEM students to enter and succeed in the profession by providing 4 year scholarships to students attending an HBCU and connecting students to internships, leadership development, and mentoring opportunities at participating companies. We are thrilled to share that we have surpassed our goal to sponsor 150 scholars in our inaugural year! 151 students will receive scholarships due to the tremendous generosity of our FOSSI donors.

Additionally, we are delighted to recognize and thank Drs. Arindam and Gopa Bose for their generous $25,000 matching gift challenge to support AIChE's Society for Biological Engineering (SBE) student programming. All gifts made now through May 31, 2021 will be matched dollar for dollar.

We hope you enjoy reading about the various ways chemical engineers, donors and industry leaders are working together to create innovative programs. Together, we are doing a world of good
