John C. Chen Endowment for Young Professional Leadership Family and friends of the late John C. Chen, the Carl R. Anderson Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at Lehigh University and AIChE’s President in 2006, have established an endowment fund in his memory to support the leadership development of young professional chemical engineers. Throughout his career as an educator and his longtime professional service to AIChE, John was a recognized for his inspirational leadership and his steadfast commitment to the next generation of chemical engineers. To celebrate John’s passion for leadership and his lasting impact on the chemical engineering profession, the endowment will provide scholarship funds to support, in perpetuity, the leadership development training of two selected young professional members of AIChE annually. The selected young professionals will participate in a face-to-face PEAK Leadership Training Program at the AIChE Annual Meeting. Funding will be made available for travel to the Annual Meeting and a full meeting registration. Additional funds will be made available for tailored online training opportunities throughout the year.
