Joe Cramer, AIChE Director Emeritus, Program Development, will broadly review the entire licensing process as it currently exists in the US. He will touch on the primary underlying justification for licensing, how it is managed and regulated within the US, tests that are required and how these tests are created and what they attempt to establish.
Cramer will also look at recent changes in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and changes that are likely to be soon implemented in the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam as well as look at other changes under consideration such as enhanced education requirements, and possible changes in the various Industrial Exemptions that exist in many licensing authorities.
He will also cover current AIChE policies and positions on these changes as well as the new Body of Knowledge (for Ch.E.s) that is under development by AIChE and current initiatives and actions being undertaken by AIChE to better support licensed AIChE members and licensing as a whole.
