Prof. Vilas G. Pol is Associate Professor at Purdue University’s School of Chemical Engineering, USA. He was a materials scientist at the Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, IL, USA (2007-2013). Pol has 19 years of research experience in the fields of materials chemistry, nanoscience, energy storage and thermal safety aspects of rechargeable batteries. He has co-authored 175 research publications (h index 42) and an inventor on 25 US patents/applications. Pol delivered more than a hundred invited talks including ‘TEDx’ talk. Pol’s research activities are highlighted in Forbes, Smithsonian, Scientists, New Discovery, PBS-NOVA, and ABC7 news.

He is ACS Grand Prize winner, was named as ‘Argonne Scholar’, MRS science as art first prize, Intel prize, 2013 British Carbon Society’s Brian Kelly award and is a ‘Gold Medalist’ in sports. He is recognized with R and D 100 award (2015) and honored with AIChE’s Sustainable Engineering Forum Research Award (2016). Pol is named as ‘Purdue Faculty Scholar’ and is a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD holder (2018) for the fastest time to arrange all the elements of the periodic table. In 2019, he received ‘Salutes to Excellence’ award from American Chemical Society and ‘Richard M. Fulrath’ award from American Ceramic Society.
