Graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, 1997 with a Masters in Mechano-Informatics and 2000 with a Ph.D. in Mechano-Informatics, all from the University of Tokyo, Shoji Takeuchi maintains a position as a Professor at his Alma Mater within the Graduate school of Information Science and Technology at the Department of Mechano-Informatics.
He has won awards throughout his educational career, notably the MEXT Young Investigator Prize, Nakatani Award, The Ichimura Prize in Science for Distinguished Achievement, and the UNESCO Netexplo Award.
