Colonel Tim MacGregor is the Commander of the 47th Operations Group, Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas.  He is responsible for the management and execution of the United States Air Force's largest Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training operation, training over one-third of all new U.S. Air Force pilots every year.

A native of Seattle, Washington, Colonel MacGregor enlisted in the Air Force in 1983, and in 1986 received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy where he graduated with military distinction in 1990.  He earned his Air Force pilot's wings in 1991, later serving on five wing staffs, as well as a U.S.-based, and deployed KC-10 Director of Operations and Squadron Commander.  He has also served on the Headquarters USAF staff at the Pentagon.

He most recently served as Deputy Director of CAPSTONE, National Defense University, Washington, D.C., ensuring newly selected generals and admirals understand the fundamentals of joint doctrine and other national strategic goals and objectives.

Colonel MacGregor is a command pilot with approximately 3,600 flying hours including 56 combat missions during Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.

Col MacGregor's educational background includes the United States Air Force Academy (BS), Florida State University (MS), the United States Naval War College (MA) and National Defense University (MS).
