Edward D. Breen is the executive chairman and CEO of DuPont de Nemours, Inc.  Prior to this appointment, he served as the executive chairman of DuPont since the separation in June 2019 and previously served as chief executive officer of DowDuPont Inc. since September 2017.  Mr. Breen previously served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (EID).  He was named interim chairman of the EID board and chief executive officer on October 16, 2015, and assumed those roles permanently on November 9, 2015. 

Previously, he served as chairman, from July 2002 to March 2016, and chief executive officer, from July 2002 to September 2012, of Tyco International, plc, a leading global provider of security products and services, fire detection and suppression products and services and life safety products.

Prior to joining Tyco, Mr. Breen held senior management positions at Motorola, including as president and chief operating officer, and General Instrument Corporation, including as chairman, president and chief executive officer.  

Mr. Breen is a director of Comcast Corporation, and a member of the advisory board of New Mountain Capital LLC, a private equity firm.  Mr. Breen served as a director of EID from February 2015 until September 2017 when he became a director of DowDuPont Inc. after the merger transaction between EID and The Dow Chemical Company.

He has been awarded many governance awards including being named one of the "100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics" by Ethisphere.
