Carmo J. Pereira

Carmo J. Pereira is Principal Division Consultant (1997-Present) in the Reaction Engineering Group at DuPont Engineering Technology specializing in the design and optimization of reactors and processes. Prior to DuPont, he was a Sr. Research Associate (1982-1997) at W. R. Grace & Co. specializing in the development of catalysts for environmental and petroleum processing applications and a Research Engineer (1979-82) at Mobil R&D Corporation specializing in reaction engineering.

Carmo has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Notre Dame.He was a co-chair of the 13th International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering held in Baltimore. He has served the profession as Director and Secretary of the Catalysis & Reaction Engineering Division of the AIChE. He has taught a Continuing Education Course and has chaired numerous sessions at AIChE national meetings. He is a Fellow of the AIChE.

Carmo received a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He has also received an MBA in Finance from Drexel University.He has authored over 70 publications and patents and has edited one book.
