Donor Dinner

Recognizing Philanthropic Leadership

The 9th Annual Foundation Donor Recognition Dinner took place on Sunday, November 8th, at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City. Over 75 of  AIChE’s most generous and loyal supporters came together to celebrate the Foundation’s many accomplishments and share with one another their strong connection to the Institute through giving.

Commitment to Advancing AIChE and the Profession at Large

Eduardo Glandt, Dean Emeritus, University of Pennsylvania and Incoming Chair, AIChE Foundation, recognized the extraordinary generosity and commitment to AIChE demonstrated by members of the John J. McKetta AIChE Lifetime Giving Society and the AIChE Legacy Society. A record breaking 70 donors were acknowledged for either joining on of the Foundation’s Giving Societies or whose lifetime giving was raised due to a generous gift to the Institute in 2015. In addition, John O’Connell, Professor Emeritus, University of Virginia and Institute Director, and Clayton J. Radke, University of California, Berkeley, received an award for the remarkable fundraising effort they led this year to rename and permanently endow the Annual Institute Lecture to the John M. Prausnitz AIChE Institute Lecture.

Recognized for Reaching New Heights of Excellence

Eduardo Glandt, Shariq Yosufzai, AIChE Foundation Vice-Chair, Foundation Staff, and dinner guests recognized Pete Lederman with a standing ovation for the extraordinary leadership and tireless dedication he’s demonstrated over the past three years in his role as Foundation Chair. The Institute is deeply grateful for the personal legacy Pete will be leaving and the foundation of philanthropy he has been so committed to building throughout the AIChE community.
