ALTOSONIC III

The first three-beam, custody-transfer ultrasonic flowmeter, the ALTOSONIC III is intended to replace turbines and positivedisplacement (PD) flowmeters in the fiscal measurement of light liquid hydrocarbons. For custody transfer, the meter offers 0.2% accuracy and is compliant with OIML R-117. With no moving parts, the ALTOSONIC III eliminates problems with clogging, scaling or blockage. And with no pressure loss, the need to upsize pumps (with the corresponding costs for procurement and electricity) is avoided.

Cylindrical Plow Blender

The Cylindrical Plow Blender is a cylindrical vessel with a horizontally oriented mixing shaft that rotates about four-times faster than ttrough-style blenders. This design fills the entire mixing vessel with fluidized material, maximizing transfer rates while minimizing impact and degradation. The unit can achieve 100% uniform blends in ratios to one part per thousand, blend significantly faster than conventional trough-style horizontal mixers, and handle a greater variety of materials, except for pastes.

No. 972 belt conveyor oven

The No. 972 belt conveyor oven operates at temperatures up to 250°F (120°C). Electric heat is delivered at 40 kW per zone through two Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements, while two 10-hp recirculating blower motors provide 25,000 ft3 of vertical downward airflow to the workload. The oven features 4-in. thick insulated walls throughout an aluminized steel exterior/Type 304, 2B-finish stainless-steel interior, with continuously back-welded seams and wall penetrations that are fitted with compression elements.

A Series plate-and-frame heat exchangers

The new A Series plate-and-frame heat exchangers (PFHEs) have been tested by an accepted American Refrigeration Institute (ARI) laboratory and have been registered as ARI 400-certified systems. The ARI 400 standard provides a uniform basis for comparison of liquid-to-liquid heat exchangers (see www.aridirectory.org/ ari/llhe.php). In compliance with this standard, the ARI 400 certified PFHEs cannot deviate from the published performance data by more than 5% with regards to heat capacity, and by no more than 10% with regards to pressure drop.

INFI-SEAL

The INFI-SEAL technology for electric process heaters provides improved heater reliability and eliminates moisture-related start-up problems and is backed with a two-year limited warranty against moisture penetration. The INFI-SEAL transforms the MgO in a tubular heater’s cold section from hygroscopic to hydrophobic (from readily absorbing water to repelling water). Its treated heating elements exhibit infinite resistance to ground and do not absorb or retain moisture.

Cooling Tower Motor and Drive System

The direct-drive technology motor and drive system improves reliability, reduces maintenance and saves energy in cooling towers. It combines the technologies of the laminated finned-frame RPM AC motor with a high-performance permanent-magnet salient-pole rotor design. Its fan couples directly to the motor shaft and is controlled by the manufacturer’s VS1 cooling tower drive, providing variable-speed performance and quiet operation while using less energy than similar systems. Typically, right-angle gearboxes have troublesome maintenance problems in cooling tower installations.

Bath Armor metallic beads

Bath Armor metallic beads are eco-friendly and low-maintenance replacements for water in water baths, aluminum blocks in dry baths, and ice in ice buckets. Eliminating the water and ice reduces the chance of contamination, as well as the need for machines that produce ice or the need to change the water. The beads thaw, warm and chill samples with high thermal efficiency, and their performance is not influenced by temperature fluctuations caused by evaporation.

Mitos hotplate adapter

The Mitos hotplate adapter offers exact temperature control of micro-fluidic chips in conjunction with a range of hotplates. It has a compact footprint of 39 mm by 43 mm, and a temperature range from room temperature up to 300°C. It is digitally controlled with an external Pt100 thermocouple temperature probe. It is compatible with the manufacturer’s Mitos chips, including the Micromixer chip, the T-junction chip, the thin-layer chip and the Droplet Generator chip.

Balston 76 Series explosionproof air dryers

Balston 76 Series explosionproof air dryers can operate in hazardous environments without costly National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)-rated enclosures. They achieve a consistent –40°F dewpoint and can handle flowrates up to 40 std. ft3/min. The dryers use industrial-grade membrane technology to remove all humidity from compressed air without the need for electrical components, such as relays and contacts that pose a risk of fire or explosion.

Kenics heat exchangers

Kenics heat exchangers are equipped with streamlined Kenics static mixer elements that provide heat-transfer rates three to seven times higher than those of conventional empty tubes, even with highly viscous, difficult-to-process materials. A continuous string of static mixer elements is located within each heat exchanger tube. Fluid flow is directed radially toward the pipe walls and back to the element, regardless of velocity. In addition, momentum reversal and flow division also contribute to mixing efficiency.
