Here is information on the 2012 Workshop.

The AIChE Local Sections Leaders Workshop (LSLW) is a forum to improve the leadership skills of current and future Local Section leaders, promote sharing of experiences and tools, enable collaboration on issues and challenges of shared concern, and generally promote networking and a sense of partnership in a greater whole. 

Many useful reference tools for local section leaders were developed for this workshop. You can access these tooks on the Resources for Local Section Leaders page.

This session focuses on how to lead in a volunteer organization-the central theme of this workshop.

Session 2 The Mechanics of Planning a Section Meeting 
(Meeting Planning 101) (Shannon Brown)
This session centers in the nuts and bolts of meeting planning, such as is required for a successful Section Meeting.

Session 3 Section Programming & Activities

This session focuses on how successful sections plan their activities and Meeting Programs.

Session 4 WEB Casts & Internet Based Programming (Gary Gildert)
This session demonstrates how to use Satelite and Webcasts in Section Programing.  This approach is in use by AIChE’s Virtual Section.

Session 5 Section Governance

This session looks at how section leadership is arranged and how a typical section is run.
