Tyler Boyle

Tyler boyle is a Research Meteorologist with the NIST Greenhouse Gas Measurements Program in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Boyle is currently leading the program’s low-cost sensor project. Prior to NIST, Boyle served as the science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) coordinator for the Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, MD, where he co-founded a university-style makerspace and taught several high-school-level introductory technology courses. He graduated with a BS in atmospheric and oceanic science from the Univ. of Maryland, College Park, and was awarded the Tannenbaum Prize in Climate Science. Boyle has nine years of experience with microcontroller-based remote sensing applications/solutions, with prior work including the development of meteorological sensing payloads for high-altitude weather balloons and the deployment of several ground-based weather networks at the Glenelg Country School and the Univ. of Maryland.
