Steve Wright is a Technology Fellow in the Corporate Technology Division at Eastman Chemical Company, based in Kingsport, Tennessee. He is currently responsible for guiding Eastman’s R&D efforts to help explore new sintering powder and filament-based polymer material opportunities in the additive manufacturing (3D printing) area.
Prior to his involvement in additive manufacturing, Steve’s career focused on in-situ, process analytics designed to provide critical, real-time chemical measurements for Eastman plants. Other Eastman positions held by Steve over the past 31 years have included animal nutrition, lab automation/robotics, and various analytical separation techniques.
Steve received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Guilford College.
Outside of work, he and his wife Tere (also an Eastman Ph.D. chemist) enjoy world traveling, boating/fishing, and cooking.
