Developing a leading open-access integrated biologics discovery, development and manufacturing platform to expedite global development

Traditionally integrated discovery, development and manufacturing platforms are established in large pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies while CROs typically support growth of industry in small focused segments such as chemistry or toxicology services initially offered by WuXi AppTec. These technology platforms from large companies are not open-access, and therefore virtual companies and companies hunting for integrated projects need to manage multiple CROs to achieve the goals. Through 14 years of growth, WuXi AppTec has established a truly integrated technology platform for small molecule drugs which offers as an “alternative research engine” for pharmaceutical companies.  Similar platform for mammalian cell culture based biologics especially monoclonal antibodies is also being developed.  In this talk, I will discuss how the open-access integrated mab discovery, development and manufacturing platform can help clients improve success of research and shorten timeline of development.  Several case studies will be presented.
