Stephanie Orvoine-Couvrette

Stéphanie is the Manager for the Program Development department at AIChE. In her role at AIChE, she works to help develop technical content, organize, and schedule chemical engineering conferences. She has worked on conferences such as the AIChE Annual Meeting, the Frontiers in Particle Science & Technology Conference, the 8th World Congress on Particle Technology, the Southwest Process Technology Conference, and the Process Development Symposium. Stéphanie has previously managed CCPS’s Middle East Process Safety Conference and Latin American Conference on Process Safety.

Stéphanie has worked with engineers, academics, and executives in a wide range of industries globally to coordinate volunteer efforts, speaking opportunities, and conference logistics. She also oversaw the development and testing of AIChE’s native conference apps, acting as a liaison between the app developer and conference and abstract management software provider.

Stéphanie studied Chemical Engineering at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

The 2012 Annual Meeting has the tagline of “Cleaner Energy, Stronger Economy, Better Living,” but what exactly does that have to do with Pittsburgh? Pittsburgh, previously a booming industrial city, was once described as “hell with the lid off," but since the collapse of its steel industry, Pittsburgh has strived to build a green economy by reducing the city’s energy demands and lowering global warming emissions.
