Water used for industrial purposes such as fabricating, manufacturing, processing, washing, and cooling, and includes such industries as steel, chemical and allied products, paper and allied products, mining, and petroleum refining. The water can be obtained from a Public Water Supply System of may be self-supplied. The terms “water use” and “water withdrawals” are equivalent, but not the same as Consumptive Use as they do not account for return flows.
