The symposium will focus on new economics, which reflect the impact of processes on natural resources, and investigate development, consumer attitudes, and venture capital interest in new biopolymers.

The event is a follow-on from the 2009 workshop held in Lausanne, Switzerland. Sister engineering societies, AIME, AIChE and ASCE, are also involved in the planning again as well.
