As part of AIChE’s commitment to the IDEAL path to inclusion, we celebrate Pride Month by honoring and uplifting chemical engineering’s LGBTQ+ community.

This year marks our third annual Virtual Pride Parade, hosted by the LGBTQ+ & Allies Community, and you’re invited to join us for this dynamic celebration of identity, progress, and connection.

Virtual Pride Parade

Friday, June 27th, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET

Open to all 

This year’s virtual celebration will open with remarks from AIChE President-Elect Anne O’Neal, followed by a powerful panel discussion on “Creating an LGBTQ+ Friendly Workplace,” organized by Gayle Gibson, Kay Glass, and Itzel Marquez.

The discussion will feature personal stories from panelists and close with a live Q&A, offering space for reflection, connection, and shared learning around building supportive workplaces in chemical engineering. Feel free to come dressed in your brightest Pride gear to help us celebrate authenticity, identity, and community. Pre-registration is required.

Panelist spotlights

Tori Courtney

Tori Courtney (she/her) is a Senior Principal Process Engineer at Air Products with a decade of experience developing hydrogen plants using cutting-edge technologies. She came out as transgender during her time at the company and has spent the past four years as co-chair of the Spectrum ERG, supporting LGBTQ+ employees and allies. Tori lives in Bethlehem, PA, with her boyfriend Scott and their dog Waffle, and enjoys racquetball, backpacking, skiing, board games, and trivia.


Andrew Stanley

Andrew Stanley (he/him) is Head of Education Policy at the Institution of Civil Engineers in Westminster, where he has worked for 17 years. With 32 years in education and 17 years at the Institution of Civil Engineers, Andrew leads its Fairness, Inclusion and Respect Committee. A long-time LGBTQ+ advocate and proud stepparent to a trans man, Andrew brings personal and professional insight to his work. He lives in London with his wife Jayne and their cats, Syd and Ziggy, and enjoys politics, vinyl records, and riverside walks.
