AIChE takes pride in recognizing the invaluable role of women in shaping the world of chemical engineering within the Institute and beyond. From Margaret Hutchinson Rousseau and Mae Jemison to Barbara Minor and Frances Arnold, trailblazing and brilliant chemical engineers have inspired thousands of women and underrepresented groups to follow in their footsteps to change the course of history and become chemical engineers.

Women in Chemical Engineering Community (WIC)
Chartered in 1998, AIChE's Women in Chemical Engineering Community (WIC) organizes sessions at AIChE’s Spring and Annual Meetings, as well as year-round online events such as Leadership Workshop for Rising Star Women Engineers. With its emphasis on inclusivity, WIC encourages members who don’t identify as women to join the community as allies.
To kickstart the celebration, AIChE is delighted to offer a special promotion. From March 8th to March 31st, new and returning AIChE members can join our Women in Chemical Engineering Community (WIC) with a complimentary year-long membership.
