Short remarks were delivered by 2017 AIChE president Bond Calloway and AIChE Foundation Chair Eduardo Glandt, among others. One speaker in particular signaled the beginning of what promises to be an important boost for this diversity initiation, and you can read more here on ChEnected in the coming weeks when an official announcement is made. Among these are Safe Zone workshops and receptions for LGBTQ+ and allies at both the Annual and Spring meetings. In 2017, we began publishing Featured LGBTQ+ Chemical Engineering Professional blog posts to help showcase LGBTQ+ members contributing to our profession.
