Spheri Valve

The patented Spheri Valve is a fast-closing bulk materials cutoff valve featuring a long-lasting dome assembly design. The valves can handle pressures up to 435 psi and material temperatures from –4°F to 900°F. The Spheri Valve can be used for abrasive, friable, and toxic materials, including foodstuffs, ores, detergents, ash, and many other materials. Valve sizes from 2 in. to 20 in. are available, as are several end-connection configurations.

Model SCC-30 Screen Classifying Cutter

The Model SCC-30 screen classifying cutter cuts hard, soft and fibrous materials into controlled particle sizes at high rates with minimal fines. It features a patented helical- rotor design with dozens of cutter blades attached to a helical array of staggered holders, called interconnected parallelograms, to continuously shear oversize materials against twin, stationary bed knives. Primarily employed for coarse grinding of materials into particles of uniform sizes ranging from granules down to 20–30 mesh, the cutter has a 30-in.

Rotex Centrifugal Sifter

Designed to meet high-capacity sifting for bulk load-in/load-out and larger process applications, the Rotex Centrifugal Sifter can handle a wide variety of powders, granules, agglomerates and other free-flowing materials. Processed particles ranging in size from 1/4 in. to 44 µm (325 mesh) are scalped with ease. The combination of high centrifugal force and blade spreading action reduces binding problems, even when handling materials that tend to flake or agglomerate due to fat or moisture content.

NS2002H Twin Panda Table-Top Laboratory/ Pilot Plant Homogenizer

Capable of processing small volumes of liquids and pumpable fluids, the NS2002H Twin Panda table-top laboratory/ pilot plant homogenizer is ideal for feasibility testing and process development in the food, food ingredients, and dairy industries. The Twin Panda is designed to homogenize samples at pressures up to 8,700 psi. The internal design has special features permitting the homogenizer to handle feeds at viscosities up to 20,000 cP and at temperatures up to 90°C (194°F) without any feeding pump.

0.05-m2 High-Containment Filter Dryers

The 0.05-m2 high-containment filter dryers can accommodate cryogenic operations down to –196°C. The conventional base-plate filtration is enhanced with a sintered-mesh filter media built into the wall of the vessel, enabling unique cross-flow filtration. A variable-speed controlled agitator is fitted with metallic bellows offering a 125-mm manual raise and lower traverse. Product recovery is achieved by manually articulating the vessel body and discharging through the PSL ChargePoint high-containment powder transfer valve, ensuring that the entire process is fully contained.

Aggregate Diverter

The Aggregate Diverter offers users a heavy-duty, maintenance- friendly diverter capable of handling abrasive materials (e.g., coal, gravel, sand, whole grains) in gravity flow applications. Available in a complete size range from 6 in. through 24 in., the Aggregate Diverter offers optional “dead pocket” inlet and “honeycombed” bucket deflector for more abrasive applications. Other options include abrasion-resistant polymer or “honeycombed” chute liners.

AlertEnterprise software platform

The AlertEnterprise software platform integrates logical (i.e., computer system) and physical plant security across diverse systems, applications, databases, and geographically distributed assets. It provides real-time monitoring and correlation of logical and physical access events for timely detection of security violations, issuing of alerts, and coordination of response activities. Its risk-management approach follows a three-step process that aggregates blended threats from information technology (IT) systems, physical access-control systems, and critical process-control systems.

Energy Audit Service

The developer of EnergyWarden now offers an energy audit service that uses this tool. This software mines data from distillation towers, heaters and boilers to generate useful reports, quantifying and displaying losses and gains in Btu, percentages, and dollars. The audits can be performed in as little as one hour per distillation tower.

Synapse and Cranium

Synapse helps engineers to design molecules and formulations with desired physical properties. Constraints, such as minimum solubility limits, maximum volatility, minimum flash point, and the need to form an azeotrope with water, are first entered as input. Synapse then generates thousands of candidate molecules, computationally assembling each one atom-by-atom. Candidate formulations are similarly generated by permuting hundreds of possible components and enumerating thousands of compositions.

E-Z Tec DSP metal detector

The E-Z Tec DSP narrow-profile metal detector catches ferrous, nonferrous and stainless metal contaminants in viscous liquids such as slurries, syrups, and pastes. By removing metal contamination, it enhances product purity, and it protects downstream equipment from damage, reducing machinery downtime and maintenance costs. When metal is detected in the product flow, a signal is sent to one of the available output relays, which can activate a ball valve, trigger an alarm, stop product flow, or send a signal to a programmable logic controller.
