Sta-Kool Type 316L stainless steel cooling element

The Sta-Kool Type 316L stainless steel cooling element protects pressure gages from large variations in temperature and pulsation. Its maximum operating temperature is 750ºF (400ºC) and maximum operating pressure is 5,000 psi at 100ºF. In tests, it has been able to reduce 400ºF (204ºC) liquid process temperatures to 100ºF (38ºC) at the active portion of a Bourdon tube. The Sta-Kool can be either threaded or welded (the latter would eliminate a potential leak path) to any pressure gage with a 0.5-in NPT male connection made of a compatible material.

Small-Scale Filter Dryer

Suitable for multi-product kilo facilities, this lab-scale system has a 0.05 m2 filtration area, a 15-L liquid capacity, and typically 2–8-L wet cake capcity. Designed to handle batch sizes of 1–5 kg, the compact system can be easily moved and receive slurry liquid from multiple reactors. It achieves product containment with a top-mounted 100 mm split valve for vessel charging. Integrated into the frame, a tilting mechanism allows complete inversion of the vessel for contained powder discharge via the same split valve.

Paratherm CR cryogenic heat-transfer fluid

A replacement for silicone and d-limonene, Paratherm CR cryogenic heat-transfer fluid has an extremely low freeze point (below –120°C). The fluid's low 10-cP viscosity at –88°C (20 cP at –96°C) enables significant efficiency gains at lower temperatures. And unlike silicone-based fluids, the CR fluid poses no containment or cleanup issues. Typical applications for Paratherm CR  include fine-chemical processes, pharmaceutical active-ingredient production, secondary coolant systems, continuous process applications, lyophilizers and environmental test chambers.

stainless steel tubing

This fabricator of feedwater heater tubes for heat exchangers offers welded and cold-drawn, or welded and bead-conditioned austenitic stainless-steel tubing. Each tube meets customer-specified quality and performance standards. Welded and drawn tubing products are available in wide range of custom sizes and chemistries.

Dowtherm RP heat-transfer fluid

Dowtherm RP heat-transfer fluid, a diaryl alkyl, is aimed at applications that require liquid-phase heat transfer. It can be used in nonpressurized systems and is pumpable to 32°F (0°C). Unlike other low-pressure fluids — including partially hydrogenated terphenyls and dibenzyl toluene fluids — RP fluid degrades primarily to low molecular-weight products. This characteristic reduces the need to remove high molecular weight material from the system, resulting in longer fluid life, reduced fluid makeup requirements and less system downtime.

Kenics heat exchangers

Kenics heat exchangers are equipped with static mixers to increase efficiency. Even with highly viscous, difficult-to-process materials, these high-performance thermal units provide maximum heat-transfer rates — 3–7 times higher than those of conventional empty tubes. They require less space and less energy, and provide faster processing times, than similar designs. The units feature all-metal and alloy construction and handle pressures up to 10,000 psi.

Desuperheater Series DS

The Desuperheater Series DS has a water spray design that provides a simple, cost-effective method of desuperheating steam. Its nozzle is positioned at the center of the desuperheater and sprays water axially in the direction of steam flow. The unit features a conical insert with a thermal sleeve to increase velocity and promote rapid absorption of water, while isolating the housing from thermal stress. The desuperheater is suitable for applications with relatively stable steam demand, such as those with a 2:1 or 3:1 turndown ratio.

Optima series baths and circulators

Optima series baths and circulators are cost-effective, multi-purpose systems designed for low-temperature applications ranging from –47ºC to 100ºC. These precision cooling systems handle both routine and sensitive analytical procedures, including spectrometry, viscometry, refractrometry, and electrophoresis.  Four digital thermostats can be combined with five refrigeration units, providing users a choice among 19 different combination models. Optional features include digital control, an integral pump and enhanced programming capabilities.

Calorplast heat exchangers

The Calorplast thermo-plastic all-welded heat exchangers are designed for cooling or heating in highly corrosive applications, including heating of pickling acid solutions, electroplating, anodizing, removing heat from chemical reactions, and acid recovery systems. They can be made of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polyethylene, or polypropylene, and are available as immersion, shell-and-tube, tube-plate, gas-liquid, and flexible heat exchanger models.

Hot Oil System

Featuring a rugged, pre-engineered design package tested for continuous operation at temperatures up to 650°F, this custom Hot Oil System is designed for use in heating revolving rolls, platens, molds, jacketed tanks and autoclaves. The arrangement of low watt-density sheath heating elements provides heat inside the tube bundle. The buffer tank design eliminates the oil degradation problems commonly associated with systems using hot oil (over 150°F). The pump suction features a self-venting chamber to automatically remove low boilers.
