MonoDose water-soluble films

The MonoDose family of products includes water-soluble films that are used for individually packaging pre-measured doses of products. When the filled sachets are introduced to water, the film completely dissolves, releasing the product. While existing films in the MonoDose family generally have a clear appearance, they do retain a slight haze as a result of the chemical makeup of the film and the production process.

Solid Catalysts

Bac2 has expanded its CSR family of latent-acid catalysts, which were previously available only in liquid form. The new solid catalysts enable safer storage, transportation and processing of pre-polymeric mixes, and they are particularly well-suited for being blended into dry mixes or added to nonaqueous pre-polymers. The most common latent catalyst salts often require too high a temperature to break down and release the acid, and weaker basic primary and secondary amines do not associate with strong acids to form a salt stable enough to prevent premature catalysis.

Master Bond Polymer System EP30D-7

Combining the benefits of epoxy resins and polyurethanes, the Master Bond Polymer System EP30D-7 offers superior strength, flexibility, abrasion resistance and toughness. This two-component epoxy is ideal for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulating in a variety of chemical process applications. Its lower exotherm also makes it suitable for casting and potting in cross-section thicknesses of over one inch.

APEX screeners

APEX screeners are available in one- and two-deck models with capacities up to 150 tons/h. The screening motion — characterized by long stroke and low frequency — rapidly stratifies particles without agitation or remixing, thereby delivering consistent particle size at high throughput rates. Mesh-cleaning balls bounce against the screen to provide aggressive blinding control, even in applications where lumps and objectionable fines are common. Gyratory motion at the feed end quickly spreads the product, and an elliptical-linear stroke at the discharge end separates closely sized materials.

Model 24 RDS 24 rotary drum screen

The self-cleaning Model 24 RDS 24 rotary drum screen removes solid materials from waste streams at high rates. The rotating cylinder is constructed from wedgwire screen that is available in seven orifice sizes. Cylinder dimensions include either 24- or 36-in. dia., with lengths ranging from 24 to 120 in., giving operators the option for throughput capacities ranging from 200 to 4,650 gal/min. The effluent stream discharges from a head box, overflowing a dam and flowing onto the outside of the rotating cylinder, allowing water to pass through into the cylinder.

PCM colloid mill, PSM submersible basket mill, Max-Shear rotor-stator mixer, and Model 50 lab dispersator

Through its recent acquisition of Premier Mill, this firm has added four new pieces of processing equipment to its product offerings — the PCM colloid mill, the PSM submersible basket mill, the vertical Max-Shear rotor-stator mixer, and the Model 50 lab dispersator. Collectively, these products provide users with many options for grinding, dispersing, mixing and dearating operations, for applications in the pigment, paints and coatings, pharmaceuticals, food processing, ceramics, agricultural, minerals processing, cosmetics, and other markets.

Elecon bucket conveyor and elevator system

The multi-axis Elecon bucket conveyor and elevator system now comes with mid-size buckets with a capacity of 495 in.3 — more than twice the capacity of the original Elecon system. The conveyor has a patented chain and uses wedge-shaped, cantilevered buckets that come together and overlap at the loading or filling station. The patented rack-and-pinion system ensures full discharge with a 360-deg. bucket rotation and quick return to the upright position.

Deltatop differential-pressure flowmeter

The Deltatop differential-pressure (DP) flowmeter measures gas, liquid and steam in ½-in. to 24-in. pipes. This flow-monitoring solution features an averaging pitot tube, a precision-machined orifice-plate primary device with a range of flanged union options, a manifold, and a transmitter. It is designed specifically for applications in accordance with ASME B16.36. The accuracy of volumetric flow measurement is achieved through the development of a theoretical model of flow coefficients that has been proven through empirical test data and verified by independent laboratories.

Series MFM Thermal Mass Flowmeters and MFC Thermal Mass Flow Controllers

This firm recently added the Series MFM Thermal Mass Flowmeters and the MFC Thermal Mass Flow Controllers to its extensive line of specialty and scientific research gas systems and equipment. The devices accurately monitor and control the flow of a wide range of gases in applications as varied as leak testing, medical research, vapor deposition, semiconductor processing, pollution monitoring, gas blending, chromatography, and more.

RTR-574 wireless four-channel logger

The new RTR-574 is a wireless four-channel logger that monitors illuminance, ultraviolet light, temperature and humidity. In addition to these parameters, the RTR-574 can also display cumulative illuminance and the cumulative amount of ultraviolet light in the LCD display. It has a wide luminosity range of 0 to 130,000 lux and low-light resolution to 0.01 lux. The UV range is 0–30 mW/cm2. The device operates at temperatures from 0°C to 55°C and relative humidities of 10–99%. The compact (2 in. by 3 in.) device can store up to 8,000 readings for each of the four channels.
