ChemCAD suite of simulation software

Version 6.0 is the latest release of the ChemCAD suite of simulation software. This version incorporates open architecture with improvements to both the graphical user interface and the core engineering functionality of the program. Using information based on recommendations from customer interviews, this state-of-the-art process simulation package seamlessly integrates into the wider chemical engineering computing environment.

Computational Fluid Dynamics Software

An updated methodology for determining pressure drop calculations in custom-engineered design projects enables modeling of flow through strainers and valves to accu-rately determine the pressure drop for any fluid traveling through stainless perforations or mesh, under virtually any design conditions. The new computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software allows comprehensive fluid-flow and heat-transfer simulations. Another recently developed tool expands the illustrative dimension of analysis to create 3D computerized product models.

Engineer’s Aide CHEMPRO 8

The new version of Engineer’s Aide CHEMPRO 8 features unique three-phase flash calculations. Developed as part of the American Petroleum Institute Technical Data Book project, it accurately handles aqueous-hydrocarbon systems. CHEMPRO 8 combines fluid flow simulation and process simulation capabilities. The software handles liquid, gas and multi-phase piping systems, and it creates simulations that can determine compressor performance.

E2.6HS1200 combination steam cleaner and high-pressure hot-water washer

Ideal for chemical and pharmaceutical operations, the E2.6HS1200 is a compact all-electric combination steam cleaner and high-pressure hot-water washer. It features two cleaners in one with hot water for blasting away dirt, grime, and dust, and a steam option for removing grease and oil and disinfecting surfaces. It reaches optimum cleaning capability by providing continuous hot water or steam quickly and continuously, even during long periods of operation.

Multi-Swell gasket

The Multi-Swell gasket is a self-loading general-service gasket. This feature eliminates the most common cause of gasket failure — insufficient load. Easier to handle than conventional gaskets, Multi-Swell gaskets can be cut with ease and they readily conform to irregular flanges, ensuring tight seals at lower loads. The gaskets feature high crush strength, which allows safe installation in applications that would typically crush elastomeric gaskets.

V300 stroke rate controller

Designed for accurate fluid metering, the V300 stroke rate controller is useful in R&D, pilot plant and production applications. It features front-panel membrane switches for convenient manual setting of pump stroke rates adjustable in 0.1% increments. With this device, operators are able to control stroke rate via an interface capable of accepting 4–20-mA, 0–5-VDC and 0–10-VDC input signals typically provided by process sensors and instrumentation.

Ultra-Web SB

Ultra-Web SB is a new, tougher filter media for dust collection in chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, textile, grain, woodworking, metalworking and many other manufacturing processes that face challenges from agglomerative dust. The design of the filter cartridges combines the excellent surface-loading and dust release capabilities of Ultra-Web nanofibers with a strong spunbond polyester substrate. This creates filter cartridges with long life, high efficiency and a significantly lower pressure drop for energy-efficient operation compared to spunbond or meltblown media.

APSPG silicone tubing

A new silicone tubing, designated APSPG, is designed for the unique demands of peristaltic pumps. APSPG is made to withstand repeated compression and release for consistent, dependable performance. It is well-suited for pharmaceutical, biomedical, biotech, chemical, laboratory and R&D applications, and is specially formulated for long life in pumps. It offers smooth surfaces for uniform fluid flow, resistance to bacteria build-up and consistent pump performance. APSPG is made from a low-volatility grade, platinum-cured silicone that meets USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 standards.

Oxide Ceramics

This comprehensive line of oxide ceramics can be used in a broad spectrum of applications, including medical instruments, high-temperature applications, laboratory instruments, and air and space travel applications, and they can also be incorporated into sensor and pump technologies. Product characteristics include abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, high-temperature stability, pressure and bending strength, as well as electrical isolation.

AF26 dual-channel absorption sensor

The AF26 dual-channel absorption sensor precisely measures color and/or concentrations inline to assure product quality, maximize yield, detect contaminants or prevent excessive discharge to waste-treatment facilities. Constructed for virtually all sanitary CIP/SIP procedures, the AF26 sensor can accommodate all hazardous area classifications as well as measure extreme temperatures and pressures.
